What Birds Does Your Waste Tip Throw Up?

In UK waste dumps are a haven for Gulls.  In Africa, they are enjoyed by Kites and Maribou Storks, but here on the Steppes of Kazakhstan, the most numerous scavengers on a farm dump (for chicken waste) are Eagles – hundreds of Steppe Eagles to be more accurate.

Steppe Eagles at Farm Waste Dump

Over 100 Steppe Eagles seen today in Kazakhstan at a chicken waste dump north of Chapaev.

The mist is smoke from a perpetual fire at the site.  When the birds are disturbed and take to the skies, the sight is a wonder to behold.
